DogEmergency is a Progressive Web App (PWA) designed to store your dog's emergency information locally on your device. We take your privacy seriously and have built this app with privacy as a core principle.

Data Storage

All data entered into DogEmergency is stored exclusively on your device using IndexedDB, a browser-based storage system. This includes:

• Your dog's name and photo
• Owner contact information
• Veterinary contact information
• Medical information (allergies, medications, conditions)
• Microchip number
• Special instructions

No Data Transmission

DogEmergency does not transmit any of your data to external servers. There is:

• No user account creation
• No authentication required
• No data sent to third parties
• No analytics or tracking
• No advertising

Offline Functionality

The app works completely offline using a service worker to cache all necessary files. This means your data remains accessible even without an internet connection.

Data Export and Import

You have full control over your data. You can:

• Export your data as a JSON file at any time
• Import previously exported data
• Delete all data by clearing your browser's storage

QR Code Generation

The QR code displayed on the emergency card is generated locally in your browser. No data is sent to any QR code generation service.

Browser Permissions

DogEmergency may request the following permissions:

• Camera/Photo Library: To upload photos of your dog (optional)
• Storage: To save data locally using IndexedDB

Data Security

While we do not collect or transmit your data, please be aware that:

• Data is stored unencrypted in your browser's IndexedDB
• Anyone with access to your device can view the app and its data
• We recommend using your device's built-in security features (passcode, biometrics)

Third-Party Services

DogEmergency does not use any third-party services, libraries (beyond standard browser APIs), or analytics tools.

Children's Privacy

This app does not collect any personal information. It can be used by anyone, including children, without privacy concerns.

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this policy.
